Dinner

Dinner was great tonight. We had filet, shrimp and spinach pasta. the steaks were grilled to perfection and the shrimp was wonderful. I grilled the steaks on the stove - Grill pans are great!!

Tomorrow I am going to make chili after we come home from church. I have taken out six pounds of meat and three pounds of sausage. I have to stop by the store to get tomatos and beans, but other than that I am ready to make a large batch of my husband's favorite food. I will make it one day and can it the next day. That way we have chili ready at the touch of a can opener - and we know what is in it!!! Have a great day and happy cooking!

New Idea for the New Year

I am trying something new for me. I am keeping a daily journal, documenting what I eat and what I do for exercise. Today was the first day. I must say it was kind of strange to write down everything that I have eaten. It really looked like a lot of food. I hope this works well for me in my quest to lose a little weight. I did like writing down what I did for exercise. It felt good to get that on paper - sort of makes it more real.

Exercising has for the past 5 years has really helped to increase my energy level. I always feel bad when I dont' do my exercises for a day or two. I have also been wanting to find some more exercises to do in my home that aren't difficult or make me buy something - equipment or something.

I will keep you all posted about my journal and whether I keep it up. I hope I can actually keep up with it.

The First Tooth

My oldest lost his first tooth yessterday. It had been loose for a couple of days and he was scared to have me pull it out. I ended up bribing him with a little car and he let me pull his tooth. Realizing that it really didn't hurt, he laughed when I showed him the tooth.

I love being there for the important moments. I missed it when he rolled over - hubby called to let me know, but I was really sad that I missed it. I just love the fact that I have a job that enables me to be home for most of their moments.

It has been a long time

It has been a long time since I have written in my blog. I don't know why I haven't. Christmas was really good - I always enjoy the holidays. My husband bought me a present this year. He isn't big on buying gifts, but he did this year. My kids really got a kick out of Santa this year. They are so cute. My older boy was surprised to see a new backpack under the tree - you see, he hadn't told Santa that he wanted one. My little one wanted to know why they didn't get the dirt bikes they had asked for. All in all, I think the holiday went really well. I hope your Christmas went well too. Happy New Year! Keep that resolution you made.
